From left to right: Betty Umstead, Yolanda Poulson, Suzette R. Hinton, Deanna Hamilton and Sharonda Patrick engage in "real talk" about their needs as women, businesswomen and in intimate relationships.

Cary, N.C., August 24, 2013– It seemed like an ordinary day on Coorsdale Drive in Cary, North Carolina.  A beautiful crisp August morning where neighbors nodded as they walked their dogs and dodged joggers who ran by.  But for the women who gathered at the Wimbledon Clubhouse for the Proverbs 31 Women's Retreat & Networking Event it was far from ordinary.  Businesswomen from all over drove in and flew in to this conference that promised to be life-changing and inspiring.  Betty Umstead and her team did not disappoint.  With an itinerary that addressed the total woman, authors, life coaches, and artisans of all specializations shared tips, insights and information to take their businesses to the next level.

Much anticipated by all was the "Real Talk" part of the gathering.  A diverse panel of women answered questions asked by the facilitator, Sebrena Boone, as well as questions from the audience.  Without any rehearsal or scripts Sharonda Patrick, Deanna Hamilton, Betty Umstead, Suzette R. Hinton and Yolando Poulson talked candidly about how they maintain balance despite busy schedules, their areas of struggle as women and businesswomen, and how they relate with partners and husbands who might be their polar opposites.

Suzette R. Hinton, the self-proclaimed Jack of All Trades and Master of All of Them was first to step to the plate, sharing how she manages three businesses and balances her relationship with her boyfriend of 2 1/2 years.  She admits that when she feels pressured or stressed, she goes into overachiever's mode.  A lively discussion ensued about the toll of success on longtime friendships.  Betty Umstead shared one of the best pieces of advice she received.  Friends will become strangers and strangers will become friends.  This, everyone could relate to.
