There is Purpose To This Desire

I just finished my meditation with Deepak Chopra.  The focus was the nature of desire.  I've participated in 21-day meditation challenges before but this one has rocked my world on Day 1!  The truth that awakened in me is this.  There is purpose to this desire, else I wouldn't have it.
There is something bigger than me who has recruited me to manifest it.

It started as an inkling, a random unexpected thought, an attraction; but now every fiber of my being knows there is nothing random or haphazard about it. Purpose gets its orders from the Source that holds everything together. I call him God.  Purpose sends an energy pulse that some might liken to Morse Code.  At first, it feels random.  Tap, tap, tap yet there's no pattern.  You might find yourself attracted to something here and there but don't think anything more of it. After a while, you notice this pull happening more often.

Have you ever talked to someone who can't hear well?  "Huh? What did you say?," is always the response.  I am having this experience with my 82 year old mother.  I have to speak louder and slower either directly in her ears or in front of her face.  I see her eyes focused on my lips trying to make out what I am saying.  Sadly, despite her efforts, she still only gets bits and pieces.  That's how it is when you have a desire but you don't fully comprehend it.  And so, you dismiss it until it comes around again.

After a while and by and by, something inside of you recognizes that it has happened to often to be a circumstance.  There's something to this, you ponder.  There is a code.  There is a sound.  There is a context.  You start looking for understanding. You start asking for illumination.  You start opening yourself up to the bigger picture.  You no longer disregard it.  Much to the contrary, you can't stop thinking about it.  Once was once a love of shoes is now opening up your own boutique or designing your own shoe.  It's no longer just about you, it's about something bigger than you.

That's when you know Life has recruited you.  Maybe your dream for wealth was more about ridding yourself of the discomfort of past due notices and evictions at first; but now, you know that there is more to your desire to be wealthy.  Your dream has Purpose.  Your desire has Meaning.  Your fulfillment is tied to it and so is someone else's.  You must do it.

If you're there - and I'm including myself in this - stop trying to figure out why.  Stop trying to make it sound noble, humanitarian or humble.  Life will reveal what it's made of.  Life will reveal whether it's covetous or purposed.  Don't you worry.  If perchance it is your Purpose, don't concern yourself about the deer in the headlight look you get from people when you try to explain why.  There is no explanation so take yourself off the hook.  You didn't give yourself this dream.  You didn't give yourself this desire. The Source of all things, like Uncle Sam, recruited you.  Doesn't matter if momma and dem don't support you in it.  If you girls or your boys tell you you're crazy.  Doesn't even matter if nobody has ever done it before.  I, like you, have to do it because I have to do it.  That's a good enough reason.  And that is why it must manifest!
