Healthy Living 7 Day Challenge Days Six and Seven

Sorry I'm writing a couple of days late.  The overachiever and the mindful me have been in a tussle.  It hasn't been hand-to-hand combat.  It has been more of a tug of war.  Now, let me explain my tug of war.  It's not like children pulling a rope gritting their teeth and groaning.  It's more like somebody lying in your bed who turns over and takes all the covers, then you have to turn to your side to pull them back.  It's a frustrating battle until both parties decide to share.

How do I achieve that sharing thing?

Sharing for me would be balanced living.  Not too far to the left and not too far to the right.  My 7-day challenge, I have found, has been more about that than what I thought it would be.  Every day for 7 days, I've started my day with Suja's Green Supreme organic juice.  At first, it was to weigh the costs of multivitamins rich in whole foods and minerals against drinking my fruits and vegetables.  I feel better; I must say.  I can't put all of this on the juice though.  Along with it, I have brought meditation into my daily ritual.  Before getting out of bed, I engage in guided meditation.  Instead of being so tight, my body is beginning to relax.

I feel more Present in what I am doing now.  Starting my day with meditation and a flavorful nutritious drink has been strength to my being.  I am taking the time to honor the vessel before I dive into a long list of to-do's.  Difficult for me to do before, I am giving myself permission to take breaks, to eat and to use the bathroom. Yes, there were times I'd work so long and hard that I realized that I had not used the bathroom all day!  Also quite telling, I've been able to stop mid-typing to answer a phone call and be fully engaged with the person on the phone without chomping at the bit to get back to typing.  "It will still be there," seems to be the prevailing Truth that is taking its rightful place of authority in my life.

Do I plan on continuing to purchase the organic juice?

Probably not.  It is delicious and energizing but $7.50 per bottle is way more than buying even the high-end vitamins.  Besides, I have some Greens First vegetable powder that I bought from my chiropractor that need to finish.  It doesn't taste as good as Suja's organic juice but it has the same nutritional value.

As this challenge comes to a close, there is a clarity that I did not have 7 days ago.  What I have learned from this challenge is something happens when you seek to live a healthier, more balanced life.  The Universe provides.  I am better.  It was worth it!
