Countdown to Book Launch

If you've ever given birth, you know that your last trimester is the most challenging.  Swollen feet, aching back and sleepless nights as you count down, pray for and try the latest tricks to accelerate your child's delivery.  Note to self:  order pizza!

Who knew that birthing a book was the same!  Yet, here I stand.  My back is hurting, I didn't go to bed until 1:00 this morning and my feet are hurting.  To men, it might sound ludicrous to say this but I wouldn't trade not one moment of it.  I am so excited about the coming of not one, but twin book babies.

Like the expectant mother that I am, I've reviewed my checklist as I count down to my book launch.  Book covers, check.  Another note to self:  create the content for back cover.  Here are the front covers.  Aren't they nice???

As is obvious, they are fraternal twins, meaning, they are indeed twins but look nothing alike.  It's hard to believe that these two unique personalities co-existed inside of me.  Both carry my DNA and come from an intimate experience, but they express their vulnerability in different ways.  Maybe that's why they weren't in competition with each other.  No wrestling matches.  For the most part, they stayed on their respective side of the womb.  While one moved around, the other slept.  Only once or twice did I feel their kicks at the same time.  That's when I felt compelled to write a chapter for one, then turn around and write a chapter for the other.  Thank God that didn't happen often!

As I look at them side by side for the first time, I am awestruck that the soul of the second in my Sound Series is "don't put me in a box" while the spirit of the provocateur is protecting its most explosive yet vulnerable area.  What irony!

It's going to be interesting to watch them grow.  I've not put any expectations on either of them.  I will follow their lead and let them teach me who they are.  This is sure to be quite an adventure!!
